Abstract submission
All participants are invited to submit one/two abstracts presenting the results of their research work for consideration at the XXIX International Symposium on Bioelectrochemistry and Bioenergetics (BES 2026).
Submission requirements:
- Abstracts must be submitted exclusively through the SUBMISSION WEBSITE.
Abstract submission
- The abstract must be prepared using the Word template (.doc or .docx) available on the website.
- Authors are asked to select the appropriate thematic panel when submitting their abstract.
- The deadline for submission is 20 December 2025.
- Once your abstract is received, the Technical Secretariat will send a confirmation email. If you do not receive confirmation, please contact the Secretariat directly.
- The Scientific Committee will evaluate all submissions, and notifications of acceptance will be sent no later than 20 January 2026.
- At least one of the authors must register for the conference. Each registered participant is entitled to present only one abstract. Abstracts without a registered presenting author will not be included in the programme or the Book of Abstracts.
- By submitting your abstract, you accept these rules.
Abstract Selection
- The Scientific Committee will evaluate all abstracts based on scientific quality and relevance to the symposium topics.
- The Committee will determine whether an abstract is accepted as an oral presentation or a poster. Due to programme constraints, not all accepted abstracts can be allocated as oral presentations.
- The Committee reserves the right to reassign abstracts to a more appropriate thematic panel if necessary.
- Authors will be notified of the Committee’s decision by the Technical Secretariat within the announced deadlines.
Book of Abstracts
- All accepted contributions will be published in the official Book of Abstracts of BES 2026.
- Submission of an abstract implies the author’s consent for it to be included in the publication.
- The Book of Abstracts will be made available in PDF format on the conference website at the beginning of the event.
Oral Presentations
- Plenary Lectures: Scheduled in 45-minute slots. Presentations should last 40 minutes, leaving time for discussion.
- Keynote Lectures: Scheduled for 25/30 minutes total, including introduction and questions.
- Oral Presentations: Allocated 15/20 minutes total, including introduction and discussion.
- Presenters will have access to the conference room computer and projection system for their slides.
Poster Presentations
- Posters must not exceed 90 cm (width) × 120 cm (height) (portrait format).
- Poster sessions will run for 2 hours, during which presenting authors are expected to be present at their posters to discuss their work and answer participants’ questions.
